On June, 60 persons from throughout the Tallahassee community traveled to Montgomery, AL to visit several civil rights sites important in our country's history. During our trip, we focused especially on the work of the Equal Justice Initiative, their Legacy Museum, and the Peace and Justice Memorial, the nation's first memorial to commemorate the victims of lynching. For many of us, it was a formative experience.
Tuesday, several of the participants will hold a panel discussion to share their impressions of the trip and their hopes for ways we in Leon County can work to bring about racial healing and justice in our community.
Please join us September 24, Tuesday, from 6:30 - 8 in the Westminster Room at First Presbyterian Church (110 N. Adams St.) and be part of this conversation.
