The Tallahassee Community Remembrance Project’s request to approve a narrative marker and monument was unanimously approved by the Tallahassee City Commission at their July 8, 2020 meeting. Below is a copy of the correspondence received from City Manager Reese Goad confirming the Commission’s approval.
No dates have been set for the erection of the marker and monument. The Steering Committee continues to work diligently and in concert with the City of Tallahassee and the Equal Justice Initiative. In conjunction with the erection of the marker and monument, the Steering Committee is in the process of planning a dedication ceremony and interfaith worship service for repentance, healing, and reconciliation. We will continue to provide updates as we progress.
